Spirometry Testing
Spirometry is an effective diagnostic test that is commonly used to evaluate the lung function of employees exposed to welding fumes, dust from wood or grain, fine powders such as lime dust, smoke from burning organic materials, paint vapours and many other harmful irritants.
How It Works
- Spirometry measures how much air you can blow out from your lungs and how fast you can blow it out.
- Employees will be asked to take a deep breath and blow as hard and as long as they can into a handheld machine several times.
- The test can be performed in our mobile unit or in a small room within your workplace. In order to monitor the lung health of employees exposed to airborne hazards, DLS recommends annual spirometry testing.
