DLS Safety Services now offers custom fitted Ear Defenders!

Benefits of custom fitted hearing protection:

• Protection – the NRR rating attributed to disposable hearing protection often grossly overrates the amount of protection the employee is actually receiving. They are often worn incorrectly and inconsistently, drastically reducing their effectiveness. Ear Defenders fit every individual perfectly.
• Comfort – In addition to providing a perfect fit, Ear Defenders are made from medical grade silicon that is designed to be soft and flexible. Employees are much more likely to consistently wear hearing protection that feels comfortable.
• Cost – Because custom-fitted Ear Defenders can be worn for up to five years, there are long-term cost savings over disposable earplugs.

How It Works

• The custom fitting process is done at your site and normally takes about 10 minutes.
• We begin by inspecting the ear to make sure it’s safe to take an impression. After inserting an oto-dam to protect the eardrum, impression material is gently injected into the individual’s ears. The impression material hardens quickly and is gently removed a few minutes later.
• The impressions are then sent to a lab where the Ear Defenders are created. Typically, Ear Defenders are returned to your site within a couple of weeks.
